The Bachelor: Ben: Week 9 Recap/Review

This week, Ben and the final three women went to Switzerland for the overnight dates.

As Ben travels to Switzerland, he reflects on the three relationships he has; he remembers the times he's shared with each woman and talks about her positive qualities.

His first date this week is with Nicki.  He surprises her with a helicopter ride over the Alps.  They land on top of a mountain and spend some time talking.  Nicki seems to be doing most of the talking, and if I were her, I'd be a little concerned by this, but maybe they just didn't show much of Ben's side of the conversation.  Nicki tells Ben she's really glad she told him that she's in love with him and she's thrilled that he connected with her family so well.  Ben remarks on how Nicki's dad reminds him of his own father and she seems really touched by this.

Over dinner, Ben gives Nicki the fantasy suite card and she accepts the invitation to spend the night with him.

Ben's second date is with Lindzi.  Ben surprises Lindzi with repelling 300 feet off a cliff together.  They are both clearly scared as they repel down together.  Afterwards, they relax in a hot tub and talk.  Lindzi shares that the "ice queen" is melting away and Ben remarks that he has seen some positive changes in her over time.  He likes that she's sharing more of herself and being vulnerable with him.

Over dinner, Lindzi shares that she put up walls in the beginning because she didn't want to appear to be a fool or to be hurt again.  She admits that she really likes Ben and that she's falling in love with him.  She tells him she wants him to propose to her in the end, that she wants to spend her life with him.  Ben offers her the fantasy suite card and she also accepts it.

Ben's final date is with Courtney.  They take a train ride and have a picnic together.  Over the picnic lunch, she shares that she feels badly about how she treated the other women in the house.  Ben doesn't seem to be buying it.  He still has concerns that she won't be able to get along with the other women in his life, like his mother and his sister.  Ben tells her what she did was "pretty messed up," and the subject is dropped until dinner.

Over dinner, Courtney again tries to tell Ben that she's sorry for how she treated the other women.  She says she realizes what she did was wrong.  Ben seems to finally accept that she's taken responsibility for her actions and offers her the fantasy suite card, and of course she accepts it.

Courtney keeps talking about how she's afraid she'll lose Ben in her confessional time, which makes her seem insecure, something Ben claims he doesn't want in a woman, so why does he keep choosing her?

Before the rose ceremony, Kacie B shows up at Ben's room to talk.  She wants to know where their relationship went wrong.  He tells her that when he visited with her family, he realized they came from two different worlds and he didn't see her making it to the end.  He tries to tell her he was "protecting" her.  She explains to him that what makes her family happy doesn't necessarily make her happy and that she's an adult and makes her own decisions.

Kacie goes on to warn Ben that if he picks Courtney, he will end up heartbroken because she's "in this to win it."  Ben becomes cold toward her and sensing the mood, she leaves brokenhearted, again.  This is Ben's third explicit warning about Courtney, and yet he never seems to listen....  Love does tend to blind us, though, so maybe that's why he can't see it.

Before the rose ceremony begins, Ben talks with Chris about his dates and his feelings.  He says he's really confused.  Chris asks if Ben wants Kacie B at the rose ceremony, but he says no, he and the other women have come too far to add someone else in.

At the rose ceremony, Ben hands roses to Lindzi and Courtney.  Nicki is sent home with her heart broken, but having no regrets.

Courtney seems to be doing an excellent job of seducing Ben!

Next week is the "Women Tell All," show.  In two weeks, Chris Harrison says it will be the most controversial ending in Bachelor history.  My prediction is that Ben won't propose to anyone or that he'll propose to Courtney only to find out she isn't what he thought she was all along (like everyone's been trying to tell him).  What do you think will happen?
