Big Brother 14 Finale Recap

Tonight was the Big Brother 14 finale, and there are some real surprises along the way to finding out who wins the $500,000.

Final Head of Household Competition Part One

As you might recall from Sunday, in the first part of the Head of Household competition has the houseguests hanging onto hooks while they're rained on, submerged in water, and slammed against a wall.

Big Brother 14 September 16, 2012 Recap: Final Three

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 wasn't all that thrilling in my opinion, but if you didn't see it, here's what you missed...

Big Brother 14 Recap September 12, 2012: Special Eviction

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 contained a special, surprise eviction.

After the nomination ceremony, Jenn is tired of Dan always managing to get out of tight situations. Dan's quite pleased with himself for getting Ian to put Shane up on the nomination block with Jenn.  Dan tries to calm Jenn down by telling her his plan is to get Shane out of the house this week.

Danielle confides in Jenn that she's worried Shane doesn't really like her.

Big Brother 14 September 9, 2012 Recap: Dan's Real Target

I don't know about anyone else, but I was on the edge of my seat during tonight's Big Brother 14 HoH competition.

Double Eviction

The producers show us some of the strategizing and game play that went on during Thursday's double eviction episode we didn't get to see on Thursday.  It turns out that Joe wasn't Dan's target - Ian was!  Dan made sure everyone was on board for voting Ian out while he reassured Ian that he was merely a pawn.

Big Brother 14 September 6, 2012 Recap: Another Double Eviction

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 was another double eviction episode, so it's jam-packed with action!

As you may recall, Dan uses the Power of Veto on Jenn and Ian puts Joe up as a replacement nominee.

Big Brother 14 September 5, 2012 Recap: Dan's in Control

Okay, now that I'm all moved, there shouldn't be any more long delays or missing posts. :)

As you might recall from Sunday's episode of Big Brother 14, Ian nominated Frank and Jenn for eviction this week.  They both seem to think it's based on personal reasons, but it's not.  Everyone's wanted Frank out for a really long time.  Jenn is just a pawn, but she somehow thinks she's a threat and thus this week's target.

Big Brother 14 August 26, 2012 Recap

Tonight's episode begins with a little recap of Thursday's double eviction episode.  We get to see some of the stuff we didn't see on Thursday.  For instance, after Boogie leaves the house, we see Frank get incredibly angry with Ian.  After Ian wins HoH, we get to see everyone campaign their position with him before he has to make nominations.  Brittney, Shane, and Dan all want Ian to put Frank up on the block right away, but Ian thinks it would be better to put up Shane and Joe, then backdoor Frank after the Power of Veto ceremony.

Big Brother 14 Recap August 23, 2012: Double Eviction

I'm sorry this is a day late, but I figured it is better a little late than not at all :)

Thursday night's episode was a double eviction, so this show was jam-packed with action.  We begin by seeing the recap of the Power of Veto ceremony where Shane puts Jenn up as a replacement nominee when Frank uses the Power of Veto on himself.

After the veto ceremony, Boogie confronts Shane about how he jerked him and Frank around regarding the replacement nominee.  Everyone can hear Boogie yelling at Shane.  Boogie even calls Shane Dan's b*tch.  Frank informs Shane that he is his number one target in the house now.

Big Brother 14 August 22, 2012 Recap: Passing the Blame

After the nomination ceremony, Frank and Boogie get together and theorize about how they wound up on the block this week.  They decide to go talk to Shane in the HoH room to try and get some answers.

Frank and Boogie keep pressing Shane for why he put them up on the block even though they were all in an alliance together.  Shane blames Joe and the Mystery Box first.  Boogie tells us that this makes no sense.  When they press further, Shane tells them he heard that Boogie and Frank were coming after him and Brittney.  They want to know where he heard that information, but Shane refuses to tell them who gave it to him.

MasterChef August 21, 2012 Recap: The Final Five

We're down to the final five home cooks at the beginning of tonight's episode of MasterChef.  The home cooks all have a Mystery Box in front of them.  What's in the box this week?

Big Brother 14: August 19, 2012 Recap: The End of the Silent Six

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 begins with the HoH competition.  As you may recall from Thursday's episode, the houseguests must transfer liquid from one end of a slippery path to the other.  The person who can fill their container and get the cork out first wins the title of Head of Household.  However, there are two temptations available for the houseguests in this competition as well: safety and $10,000.  Once a houseguest wins one of the temptations, he or she is out of the competition and nobody else is eligible to win that prize.

Big Brother 14 August 16, 2012 Recap: Live Eviction

First, I just want to let you all know that I'm in the process of packing and moving, but I'll do my very best to stay on top of the recaps!

Thursday's episode of Big Brother 14 begins with a recap of the veto ceremony where Frank decides not to use the Power of Veto on anyone.

Brittney is upset that Frank even considered backdooring Dan.

Big Brother 14 Recap: August 8, 2012: Power of Veto

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 was packed with a lot of scheming, game talk, and new alliance building.

After the nomination ceremony where Danielle nominated Wil and Frank this week, Wil is quite angry with Danielle.  Danielle pulls him aside to let him know that he's just a pawn.  She cries and tells Wil how sorry she is.  Wil cries as well.  After they've let it all out, they're better.

Frank is annoyed that he's been nominated for the third time.  He tells us he isn't as big of a threat as everyone seems to think he is.

Big Brother 14: August 2, 2012 Recap

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 begins with a recap of the Power of Veto ceremony where Shane takes Ashley off the block and replaces her with Frank.  Ashley is happy to be off the block, of course, while Boogie is furious.

Shane tells Frank he isn't the target, he is safe from eviction and Frank believes him.  But we all know Frank is the real target this week as Shane's said so in the diary room several times.  Frank tells Boogie that he is safe this week.  Boogie questions Frank about whether he knew he'd be a replacement nominee or not and when Frank says he had an idea that he would be, Boogie becomes upset because Frank didn't run straight to him and tell him this information.  Sometimes I think the coaches act more like parents in this game than coaches....

Big Brother 14: August 1, 2012 Recap

The game is finally taking some unexpected twists and turns!

Tonight's episode of Big Brother 14 began the aftermath of the nominations ceremony.  Janelle has a meeting with her team where she tells everyone they need to suck up to Shane.  Joe doesn't like this idea at all.  He doesn't want to be fake with Shane.  I can relate; I told my roommates I would stink at this game because I'm just too honest.

A Note About MasterChef

I just wanted to let everyone know that MasterChef had no new episodes this week.  It looks like the show will resume with new episodes next week.  Please be sure to come back then to read the recaps on the new episodes :)

Big Brother 14 Recap July 25, 2012: Nominations and Power of Veto Competition

There weren't any surprises in tonight's episode of Big Brother 14.

The show starts with recapping the event that led to Willie getting removed from the game.  Frank has to make nominations for eviction, and it's pretty obvious who's he's going to put up on the block this week.

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

I just wanted to let everyone know that tonight's MasterChef update will be late because I have to get up super early later.  I'm sorry.  I'll post the recap as soon as I can.

Big Brother 14 July 22, 2012 Recap: Houseguest Removed from the Game

Tonight's Big Brother 14 episode opens with reviewing the end of the Head of Household (HOH) competition.  Frank's the winner, which isn't a good thing for Willie and he knows it.  Janelle is excited Frank has won and decides to break her alliance with Brittney in order to work with Frank and keep her players safe another week.  Shane worries that he might be a target now that Frank is the HOH.  He says it was good to be aligned with Willie when he was the HOH, but now he is thinking about breaking his alliance with Willie to keep himself safe another week.

Big Brother 14 Episode 4: Live Eviction and Head of Household Competition

I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with MasterChef and Big Brother lately.  I've had to deal with a personal crisis, which I'm not at liberty to discuss.  But the last thing I want to do is be an unreliable blogger, so I am sorry about that.  I'll do my best to stay on top of the shows!

Tonight's episode featured the first live eviction and some major drama.

On Wednesday, we saw Shane win the Power of Veto competition.  He decided it would be in his best interest to not use it and to keep the nomination the same - Kara and Frank.  Shane wants to show Willie he's serious about wanting to work with him.

After the veto ceremony, Frank goes up to the Head of Household (HOH) room to chat with Willie.  Willie lets him know that if he lays low, he won't be going home this week, Kara will.  Frank feels reassured and lets Willie know that he trusts him more than anyone else in the house.  Why that is is beyond me.

Big Brother Season 14 Premiere: First Eviction

It's time for Big Brother again!  Season 14 premiered tonight (July 12).

We start this season off with 12 new house guests.  The producers show each house guest receiving an invitation to the Big Brother house.  Some of the house guests seem confused because people going to the house usually get a key instead of an invitation.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 11 Recap

This episode of MasterChef begins with a Mystery Box Challenge.  What's in the box this week?  A sea urchin!  Some of the sea urchin's spines are poisonous, so Chef Ramsay calls everyone down front to show them how to properly take the sea urchin apart.  He lets Christine feel the sea urchin as he demonstrates.

The home cooks have 60 minutes to prepare a dish for the judges.  They are also given access to a pantry with a limited supply of ingredients.

As usual, the judges walk around and chat with contestants as they cook.  Christine feels Monti will have difficulty with this challenge.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 9 Recap: Battle of the Food Trucks

The home cooks head to Venice Beach, CA where they face their next Team Challenge.  The judges meet them on the beach, each driving a food truck.  This week, the home cooks will be divided into three teams who will each have their own food truck from which to serve.

Since Stacey had the best dish in the Elimination Challenge last week, she gets to choose her team first.  She chooses Tali, Frank, and Becky.  Stacey chose Tali because she knows she can beat him if her team loses the challenge and is forced to face the pressure test.  It's always good to have a back-up plan, right?  LOL!

Stacey also gets to choose the composition of the other two teams.  She puts David, Anna, Monti, and Tanya on a team because she knows Monti and David don't really get along that well.  This leaves Christina, Mike, Felix, and Josh, who make up the third team.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 8: Battle of the Desserts

This episode of MasterChef began with a Mystery Box Challenge.  For anyone who may be unfamiliar with Mystery Box Challenges, the home cooks have to use some or all of the ingredients inside the box to create a dish.

What's inside this week's Mystery Box?  Mike's wishing for a steak!  He gets his wish; T-bone steak, peaches, paprika, corn, and watermelon are among the ingredients in the box this week.  The judges made a big point of making sure everyone knows the ingredients all came from Wal-Mart and only cost $15.....have to make that advertising money and all, you know.

The contestants have 60 minutes to prepare their dishes.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

As you may recall from last week, Christine and Josh had the two best dishes in the Elimination Challenge and were named team captains for the next Team Challenge.

The contestants are all asleep in their Los Angeles hotel when the judges start knocking on everyone's door to begin this week's Team Challenge.  It's 3am and not everyone is happy to see the judges so early.  This week's Team Challenge is to cook all the breakfast room service orders.  Occupants in the hotel can order: two eggs any style, homemade pancakes, oatmeal, eggs benedict, a fresh fruit salad, or an egg white omelet.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 6 Recap

Tonight the top 15 home cooks continued their quest to become the next MasterChef.

The episode starts with a Mystery Box Challenge.  What's in the box?  Various body parts of animals, such as cow tongue, a lamb's head, and bull testicles.  Most of the home cooks are grossed out about the prospect of having to cook with these parts, and Christine is thankful she can't see what's in her box.  Likewise, I'm glad I couldn't see it!  LOL.  I know that some call these parts "delicacies," but eating any of the animal parts they had to work with didn't sound appetizing to me at all.

The contestants have 90 minutes to cook.

Monti decides to work with the testicles.  Joe Bastianich tells her the testicles are very difficult to work with. Monti replies that doing something easy isn't going to impress him.  Ryan tells Gordon Ramsay that he will be the next MasterChef.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 5: Cooking for the Marines Recap

As you may recall from the last episode of MasterChef, Frank and David were made team captains  as a reward for their excellent dishes.

Tonight, the home cooks faced their first team challenge.  They were to cook an entire entree for 201 U.S. Marines.  Frank was the captain of the blue team, and he chose Felix, Scott, Stacy, Tali, Tanya, Michael, and Christine to cook with him.  David, the team captain for the red team chooses Becky, Josh, Helene, Monti, Anna, and Ryan.

MasterChef Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

In Monday's episode of MasterChef, the last day of auditions as well as the first major competition of the season occurred.

MasterChef Season Three Premiere Part Two Recap

Thirteen contestants were given aprons in part one of the premiere of MasterChef.  In part two, Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianich continue who will and will not be allowed to continue on in hopes of becoming the next MasterChef.

Each home cook has one hour to prepare his or her best dish and then present it to the judges.

MasterChef Season Three Premiere Part One Recap

I know this week's recaps are a little late, and I'm terribly sorry about that, but I wanted to post them anyway.

Season three of Gordon Ramsey's MasterChef premiered on Monday June 4.

The show began by reminding the 100 contestants what they could win if they were to become this year's MasterChef.  This year the winner of MasterChef will win a cash prize of $250,000, a MasterChef trophy, and will have a cookbook published with the winner's best recipes.

After going around the country, the contestants were narrowed down to 100 of the best home cooks in the United States.  Each home cook had one hour to prepare a dish that they would present the judges to taste.  The judges, who are Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianich, tasted each home chef's dish and decided if the individual had what it took to possibly become the next MasterChef.  Those who were selected to go on in the contest were given special MasterChef aprons.

America's Next Top Model British Invasion Recap: Double Elimination

At the beginning of this week's episode, three U.K. girls and two Americans remained in the competition.  After panel where Catherine had been eliminated, the girls return to their "home" as usual.  Laura was feeling pretty good as she won best photo last week.  While Laura appreciated Sophie being happy for her, she tells us that the other girls were just waiting for her to fall.  Laura also made her dislike for Eboni apparent to us again this week, calling her a spoiled brat.

Alisha struggled with being in the bottom two again.  She admitted she doesn't understand what the judges want from her.

The girls had their challenge in Hong Kong this week.  On the way there, Laura talked with the girls about sex, which annoyed them all, especially Alisha.

As you might recall, Sophie won best photo last week, so the Brits were ahead 4 to 3 at the start of this week's episode.

Alicia responded to the judges' criticism by promising to prove that she can be a good model, not just good in commercials.

This week, the girls went to The Beverly Hills hotel.  The models learned that four fashion designers were competing to win the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize, which awarded the winning designer with $40,000.  Each designer had to pick a model to open their runway shows for them.  Any girl who was not picked to open a show would be walking in the rest of the show.

The Amazing Race: Season 20, Episode 9 "Bollywood Squares" Recap/Review

After winning the last leg in Tanzania, Mark and Bopper were the first team to set out this week.  At the pit stop, a doctor came to look at Bopper's knee.  He told them it was fine for Bopper to continue racing if he put a brace on it.  I was happy to hear that (as were they, obviously) as they are one of my favorite teams this season.

Survivor: One World - Premiere

I've been thinking about starting this blog for a while now. One of my roommates came up with the cute title and I really like it. I thought this would be a good time to start this blog since the Spring reality shows are just starting or are part-way in now. I hope you enjoy!

Tonight's post will recap and review the premiere of Survivor: One World.
