Big Brother 14 August 22, 2012 Recap: Passing the Blame

After the nomination ceremony, Frank and Boogie get together and theorize about how they wound up on the block this week.  They decide to go talk to Shane in the HoH room to try and get some answers.

Frank and Boogie keep pressing Shane for why he put them up on the block even though they were all in an alliance together.  Shane blames Joe and the Mystery Box first.  Boogie tells us that this makes no sense.  When they press further, Shane tells them he heard that Boogie and Frank were coming after him and Brittney.  They want to know where he heard that information, but Shane refuses to tell them who gave it to him.

Boogie and Frank assume Brittney told him this information.  Shane tells them she did influence his nomination choices.

After this conversation, Shane tells Brittney that he put the blame on her for the nominations this week.  Brittney is really not amused by this.  She is very upset that Shane has thrown her under the bus.  Shane gets mad that Brittney isn't just taking the blame for this.  He wonders why he always has to get the blood on his hands when he's the HoH.

Brittney has a conversation with Boogie and Frank where she blames her anonymous source (Ian) for telling her that Boogie and Frank were coming after her and Shane.  Boogie and Frank keep pressing her to find out who this source is, but she won't tell them.  They theorize it's Dan and Brittney will not either confirm or deny their suspicion.

Frank and Boogie inform Ian that Dan is the person to blame for them being on the block this week.  If they only knew it was Ian who was to blame....

Boogie goes to Dan and asks him if he was the one who told Brittney they were coming after her and Shane.  Dan denies being the one who told her, but he won't reveal who the source is, either.

Boogie, Frank, Shane, Brittney, and Dan have a meeting to discuss this whole thing.  Brittney says she won't reveal the source of the information.  Frank says he can accept that, but then tells Dan he wants him to admit he was the one who divulged the information.  Dan is silent, which Boogie and Frank take as an admission to the crime.  In reality, Dan just didn't want to expose Ian as it would break his alliance with the Quack Pack.

Power of Veto

Shane chooses Jenn for the Power of Veto competition.  Frank and Boogie both get "houseguest choice."  Frank chooses Ashley for the competition and Boogie chooses Ian.

The veto competition involves the houseguests looking at a small portion of candy and guessing how much candy might be in a much larger container.  Each houseguests can choose to stay or fold in each round.  Of the houseguests who choose to stay in each round, the person who is furthest away from the actual number is eliminated while the person who is closest gets a point.  The first person to three points is the winner.

First round: Frank gets a point.  Boogie is eliminated.  Boy is Boogie pissed!
Second round: Frank gets a point.  Jenn gets eliminated.
Third round: Shane gets a point.  Ian gets eliminated.  Boogie is disappointed in Ian.
Fourth round: Ashley gets a point while Shane is eliminated.
In the final round, Ashley chooses to "fold," which makes Frank an automatic winner.  Even if she had chosen to "stay" she wouldn't have won, but it was still not a smart thing to do, LOL.

So Frank wins the veto and Shane knows he'll have to put up a replacement nominee since there's no way Frank won't use the Power of Veto on himself.

Have Nots

Here are this week's Have Not choices for everyone to vote on:

Feta and fennel.
Mozzarella and matzo
Cheddar and chipotle

Boogie and Frank try to get the floaters in the game to go to Shane and throw Dan under the bus.  Jenn likes this plan.  We actually see her talk to Shane about backdooring Dan this week, but Shane says the replacement nominee could be anyone.

Boogie tries to get Brittney to go along with the plan too.  He starts crying in front of her, but she thinks it's pathetic and doesn't buy it.  She knows Dan didn't do what they think he did.  Boogie thinks that if he can convince Brittney to go along with the plan, she will convince Shane to do what they want.

Boogie approaches Shane about the replacement nominee and tries to get him to see how dangerous Dan is in the game.

Veto Ceremony

At the veto ceremony, Frank takes himself off the block and he tells Boogie he wishes he had two vetoes.

Shane nominates Jenn as a replacement nominee.

Tomorrow is a double eviction night, so it'll be a full episode.

What on earth happened to that Mystery Box anyway, I woner?
