Big Brother 14 Recap August 23, 2012: Double Eviction

I'm sorry this is a day late, but I figured it is better a little late than not at all :)

Thursday night's episode was a double eviction, so this show was jam-packed with action.  We begin by seeing the recap of the Power of Veto ceremony where Shane puts Jenn up as a replacement nominee when Frank uses the Power of Veto on himself.

After the veto ceremony, Boogie confronts Shane about how he jerked him and Frank around regarding the replacement nominee.  Everyone can hear Boogie yelling at Shane.  Boogie even calls Shane Dan's b*tch.  Frank informs Shane that he is his number one target in the house now.

Later, Boogie and Frank try to bully Dan, too.  Dan just remains calm and doesn't really respond to anything they throw at him (go Dan!).

Jenn's quite angry about being put on the block as a replacement nominee.  She's going around complaining to everyone.  I guess she doesn't realize she's just a pawn to get Boogie out of the house.

Eviction #1

Eviction #1 really isn't much of a surprise.  This is the way the house voted:

Brittney votes to evict Boogie.
Dan votes to evict Boogie.
Ian votes to evict Boogie.
Ashley votes to evict Jenn.
Joe votes to evict Boogie.
Frank votes to evict Jenn.
Danielle votes to evict Boogie.

Boogie is evicted from the house.  When saying good-bye to Boogie before he leaves the house, Ian tells him he respects him, but he might see things he doesn't like.  Boogie then tells Frank that Ian isn't to be trusted before leaving.  If I were Ian, I would have let Boogie learn the truth in his good-bye message OUTSIDE the house so that Frank wasn't tipped off.

In his taped good-bye message, Ian confesses that he masterminded Boogie's eviction.  He tells Boogie he's sorry, but he learns from the best.  Boogie is proud of Ian and takes his hat off to him.

Head of Household Competition

The houseguests play a "before or after" game where they must determine if one event occurred before or after another event.

Question 1 - Ashley is eliminated.
Question 2 - Dan, Jenn, and Joe are eliminated.
Question 3 - Frank is eliminated.
Question 4 - Nobody is eliminated.
Question 5 - Brittney is eliminated.
When it's down to Danielle and Ian, Julie Chenn enforces a tie-breaker question.  She asks them how many seconds the lemon and lime competition lasted.  My guess was 300.  Danielle guessed 1,200 and Ian guessed 1,000.  The correct answer was actually 400, so Ian wins the Head of Household competition.

Nominations

Ian has to make his decision about nominations in a matter of a few minutes.  We see him ask Joe for a week of safety.  Joe agrees.

Ian ends up nominating Ashley and Frank for eviction.

Power of Veto Competition

Apparently during a commercial break, Shane, Joe, and Danielle were selected to play in the competition alongside Frank, Ashley, and Ian.

In this veto competition, houseguests must find two clovers in a big pot of gold balls.  Whoever can retrieve both clovers and then retrieve their Power of Veto wins.

Ian finds the first clover.  Frank finds one second.  Joe, Danielle, and Shane find their first clovers in that order next.

Frank finds his second clover.......then he goes to retrieve his Poer of Veto and wins the competition.

Frank tries to make a deal with Shane and Brittney, asking them to vote out Joe instead of Ashley if he's the replacement nominee.  In exchange, Frank promises that Dan is still his target in the house.

Frank uses the Power of Veto on himself.  Ian puts Joe up as a replacement nominee.

I wasn't sure who would be voted out.  Neither Joe nor Ashley are good at competitions, but I think Ashley is less of a threat in the house than Joe.

Eviction #2

The house ends up voting as such:

Brittney votes to evict Ashley.
Frank votes to evict Joe.
Shane votes to evict Ashley.
Dan votes to evict Ashley.
Danielle votes to evict Ashley.
Jenn votes to evict Ashley.

After Ashley leaves, Frank accuses Brittney and Danielle of hiding behind Shane and Dan.

Ashley's the first member of the Big Brother 14 jury, so she's headed to the jury house.
