After AzMarie's elimination, the girls return to the house and complain about Kyle. They wonder what the judges see in here and Laura is angry because she's still in the competition.
For this week's team challenge, the girls had to come up with a two-minute PSA promoting Tyra's Bio campaign, focusing on positive body image. It was sad that some of the girls didn't even know what a PSA was.
Each model was paired with a younger girl to work on the PSA with. The models each took the time to get to know their partners and the younger girls confided in the models about what made them feel ugly versus pretty. A lot of the young girls admitted they had been bullied based on the way they look. That really saddens me, as I know how that feels. I used to get picked on all the time for various things, including my looks. People can be very cruel. I think it was sweet how nice and reassuring the models were being to the younger girls. It was really meaningful how sincerely the models were telling these young girls how beautiful they are!
The girls were working of the theme, "Beauty is..." for the PSA. Both of the PSAs were good. Some of the things the models and girls said were:
"Beauty is..."
-Being funny
-Confidence
-Being you
-Dancing
Personally I liked the British team's PSA a little more than the U.S. one. Apparently Nigel agreed with me and deemed the British team the winners of the challenge. Their prize? Video messages from loved ones - a great prize at this stage of the competition where it gets lonely and the stress is high.
Most of the girls really enjoyed their video messages. Sophie was disappointed in hers, though. Poor Sophie needs a more supportive boyfriend.
The girls were supposed to be a "living art installation," at a dinner party in a huge mansion this week for their photo shoot. They were to focus on their booty tooches. Everyone tried their best to stand out among all the background models and singer Estelle. Kyle claims her butt is so small that she needed a butt pad to properly tooch. The fact that she used a butt pad irritated some of the other girls who chose not to use anything but their natural assets.
At panel, the guest judge was Estelle. The judges had these comments about the model's photos this week:
Sophie - The judges loved her photo this week. Kelly said she looked dirty, nasty, and sexy in the picture.
Alisha - The judges think she looks better in videos than in still photos. They seem to think that she'd do much better in commercials than she would modeling for magazines.
Annaliese - Kelly thought this was Annaliese's best photo in the competition thus far. Nigel also really liked her photo this week.
Catherine - None of the judges really loved her photo. She was in a strange position, I'll agree. She was on hands and knees with her butt in the air - not exactly high fashion there...
Seymone - The judges loved her photo. Tyra thinks it's really cool and says she looks like she's doing an "upside down rainbow tooch."
Kyle - Tyra remarked that her photos seem to get worse and worse over time. Nigel commented about how she nearly always uses the same facial expression in her pictures.
Eboni - Eboni took a risk this week in her photo, and I personally think it's great that she did something *different* than the other models. Kelly didn't seem to like the photo all that much, though, saying it was, "topsy-turvy." One of the judges remarked that she looks like a contortionist in her picture.
Laura - The judges loved her face in her photo this week.
Best photo this week went to Sophie. The judges commented that Sophie is a dangerous girl in this competition. I adore Sophie and think she'll go far in this competition.
Runner-up for best photo this week was Seymone.
Alicia and Kyle ended up being in the bottom two. The judges felt Alicia's photos don't compare to how great she is in videos and in person. Kyle landed in the bottom two because the judges felt she lacks diversity in her facial expressions and poses.
Kyle was eliminated. Tyra told Kyle she can be, "the girl next door," and still have diversity in her posing and facial expressions.
What do you think about the judges' decision to eliminate Kyle? How much longer do you think Alicia will last if she's so much better in videos than she is in photos? Please leave me your thoughts in the comments section.
By the way, if you're interested, you can listen to Estelle's song, "Thank You," here.
